1 Oct 2014

Loma Systems are announced as the Processing & Packaging Machinery Manufacturer of the Year at the third annual PPMA Group Industry Awards 2014, held on Tuesday 30th September at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.

Simon Spencer, Loma Systems’ Managing Director comments: “Loma is honoured to have won this award. It reinforces our 45 years’ experience in the development and manufacture of delivering next generation, robust and reliable inspection equipment, designed to deliver maximum uptime and low lifetime cost of ownership - in line with our ‘Designed to Survive’ ethos. It also demonstrates our on-going commitment to enhancing production efficiencies to meet build and lead time requirements.

Simon continues: “Lastly, Loma is only as good as its people and this latest award win will offer a real boost and recognition for their continued dedication and hard work,” he concludes.

The prestigious event, held in conjunction with BARA (British Automation & Robot Association) and UKIVA (UK Industrial Vision Association), was attended by some 400 guests and superbly hosted by Scottish impressionist and comedian, Rory Bremner.

Loma’s attention to excellence was praised by the judging panel, who dubbed the company “a great example of how the drive for excellence in the individual elements of any operation leads to a sound and successful business”. Additionally, the judges highlighted Loma’s improvements in supplier performance, reductions in manufacturing time and focus on key performance indicators which have led to increased sales, improved profitability, excellent customer service and high employee retention.

A total of 13 award categories were judged by an independent panel and entrants for the Machinery Manufacturer of the Year were asked to demonstrate that they have excelled in areas such as product development, sales, customer service, working practice and or staff development.
