Loma exhibit to focus on range of best breed compact contaminant inspection systems

1 Nov 2016

Loma Systems will be highlighting a wide range of is "Designed to Survive" inspection systems including the Insight Pharmaceutical range.

Loma’s X 5c X-ray inspection system was developed in response to growing demand for a more cost effective yet highly functional X-ray solution. With retailers’ Codes of Practice increasingly specifying the use of X-ray, it is aimed at companies running multi-product, retail ready lines keen to make the switch to X-ray inspection for the first time. Plus it reduces the cost of ownership of X-ray inspection technology and represents considerable investment in developing a fully specified system that offers excellent detection using a reduced number of well-proven subcomponents and streamlined design.

Ideal for the detection of glass, calcified bone, rubber, stone as well as ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless steel metal in various packaging, Loma’s X 5c operates at line speeds up to 50 metres per minute and measures just one metre in length. It features an easy to use eight inch intuitive colour touch screen and the X 5c PC has been migrated to a Windows embedded standard operating system ensuring continued support from Microsoft. It has a high speed USB port and simple Ethernet connection for easy outputting of reports.

Loma’s CW3 Compact Combo offers up to 30% smaller footprint than similar systems and ensures high levels of quality assurance by providing superior product inspection within limited space. It features a convenient modular design and adapts to a wide range of products due to true variable frequency metal detection and versatile checkweighing capabilities. The checkweigher measures product weights quickly and precisely, with a specially developed diverter rejecting “out of tolerance” products, while the metal detector consistently detects and rejects contaminated items.

Loma’s versatile checkweigher is capable of weighing a wide range of flexible and rigid packs up to 6kg. It is available in line heights from 700mm to 1200mm and total system lengths from 1610mm to 2100mm and is capable of inspecting up to 80 packs per minute. With true variable frequency, the metal detector function automatically calibrates new products and packaging within seconds. Frequency data for different items is stored for added ease of operation and optimum sensitivity.

Loma’s PipeLine metal detector can be fitted into any existing pipeline system and is easily integrated with the latest vacuum fillers and clipping and linking systems. The IP69K-rated unit has robust quick release fittings that enable it to be easily dismantled and cleaned. It is available with a number of pipe diameters and offers a wide range of efficient reject valves to suit all types of applications.

Designed to exceed stringent industry demands, Loma’s INSIGHT PH pharmaceutical metal detector excels on all measures. Highly resistant to vibration, the integrated digital search head and sophisticated OPTIX detector management software enable the INSIGHT PH to clearly display the detailed product profile needed to achieve perfect product setups using the unique Direct Digital Signal vector diagram.

Loma’s robust and reliable metal detector conveyor system boasts a continuous and nonporous welded 304L stainless steel frame. Easy to clean and hygienic, it meets OSHA, ANSI, CSA and AMI specifications and is the first and only conveyor system to attain UL and CUL approvals. Importantly, it also has several different reject mechanisms including stop on detect, air-blast, pusher and retracting band reject.

High throughput rates coupled with best in class sensitivity makes Loma’s INSIGHT vertical fall metal detector suitable for the detection of metal contaminants in free falling materials, including cereals, cocoa, coffee, sugars, spices, dried fruit and vegetables, flour, milk powder products, rice, chemical granules and plastic pellets.
